Thanks to DDNet, there is now a console command to resolve ingame skins with custom databases.
The game searches for spritesheets in your local skins folder and loads the file with matching filename.
Instead of saving multiple files to your local hard drive, you are now able to use an already existing database.

All skins stored in the database are now available to you. Just open the console (F1) and type in the name of the skin you would like to use with the prefix command 'player_skin'.
E.g.: player_skin teeskins
Skins of players on a server are automatically loaded from the database if they exist.
